Taejae students will have the opportunity to live and study in other cities
Taejae University, founded by Chang-Gul Cho, the chairman of Hanssem Corp., has gained accreditation from the Korean Ministry of Education on April 20, 2023. This accreditation is significant as it marks the first new university to be accredited in South Korea in eleven years. The university aims to cultivate innovative students who will contribute to global harmony and sustainability.
Taejae University plans to open its doors in September 2023, with a focus on providing innovative, transformational, and experiential learning. It intends to serve as a model for higher education institutions, offering a way to develop education for the 21st century in a rapidly changing world.
The university’s academic structure is designed to provide a flexible and personalized learning experience. In the first year, students are required to enroll in the School of Innovation Foundations, where they build core competencies in preparation for their specialized studies. In the second year, students choose one of four schools: Humanities and Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, or Business Innovation. Taejae University encourages students to design their own academic programs based on their interests and career aspirations.
Taejae students will have the opportunity to live and study in cities such as Seoul, Tokyo, New York City, Hong Kong, and Moscow. Classes will be conducted online with small class sizes of fewer than twenty students. The university employs the Active Learning method, which is highly interactive, student-driven, and emphasizes problem-solving.
To make education accessible, Taejae University offers comprehensive scholarships that cover tuition, residence, and the Global Project for all international students and eligible Korean students based on income tiers. The scholarship program also includes support for recent graduates pursuing further academic and career paths.
The university has a capacity of one hundred Korean students and one hundred international students and will begin its first semester in September 2023. The admissions process for Korean students will take place from June 15 to June 20, 2023, and for international students from June 1 to July 15, 2023.
